The Real Story Of Why The Resonance Seperated
Dating back to 2006 approximately 14 years ago when a gospel musical group took the Nigerian music industry by surprise with their hit songs like Lee Lee and Chinwe Ike. This duo dished out musical records that was widely accepted by many far back as 2006, but one would wonder what has actually happened to this music group.
As the adage had it “nothing lasts forever” no one would want to what they like, or love get wind off in thin Air. Such is the case with the Resonance music group. Which after their collaborations in 2006 separated and this has actually hindered the success or should I say musical spirit of this duo, not withstanding let’s look at the story behind the scene.
Brief Explanation Of How The Resonance Started
Two cousins a male and female formed group known as Resonance. The male could be seen as a gospel rapper while, the female one, is a great singer with a voice that can be compared to US Ciara.
Esther Abigbo’s olaedo, also known as ‘E-Star’ and Uche ‘Gucheano’ Ozoigbo, formed the Resonance group far back in 2006 in Enugu, eastern Nigeria, with an emphasis on gospel music.Their debut album “Chinweike” which means God is great in English, has sold many copies this duo collaborations elevated there instant success in Nigeria and beyond. It really set them off, winning in Enugu and Lagos several awards. Their future was quiet bright, they had it all, they were even tipped to surpass the likes of P.Square, D’banj, and Samsung, suddenly they vanished into thin air.
What Led To The The Break-up Of Resonance
Many reasons can be given on why this fantastic music group broke up some of the facts some fictions. But there are facts which stand out and can be pointed at the arrowhead of their break up. Some are
- Yes they are related but not like brothers like P.Square, they’re rumored to be cousins. Since they’re not related closely disagreements are bound to set in
- Both are two different individuals with two different music styles.
- At least one of them is greedy. Why else will he/she leave a group that is bound to make millions?
- One of them possibly the female takes all the credit while the other does all the hard work.
It has been eleven years since this lot vanished from the limelight, not because they want to but because they’ve broken up and went solo, just like the late Prof. Chinua Achebe wrote: “Things fall apart and the center can not hold”. Things have actually fallen apart for Nigeria’s Resonance since they went solo. Esther and Uche right now are nowhere to found in Nigeria’s music industry, the speedboat has simply overtaken them. Yes, they’ve tried coming back, Esther releasing Ifunnaya and Udo, but compared to Chinweike, those two are nothing.
Facts About The Resonance
The truth is the only reason we heard about those two songs was that of that album Chinweike, in other words, she is walking in the shadows of Resonance.
In life, some learn things the hard way, while others simply learn from the mistakes of others, in this case, Esther and Uche learnt their lesson the hard way.
Don’t be selfish only looking out for yourself, don’t be greedy, yeah don’t be because life is not all about the money. Above all things love others as you love yourself. If you ignore this you just might end up like this dropped group.
